Whitechapel Gallery is delighted to announce the eleventh recipient of its prestigious Art Icon Award as the visionary filmmaker and artist, Isaac Julien KBE RA.

Iwona Blazwick has announced that after twenty years at the helm she will be stepping down in April 2022. Blazwick will continue to work as an independent curator both with the Gallery into 2023, and on a wide range of international projects.
We are pleased to announce the recipient of the Asymmetry Curatorial Fellowship at Whitechapel Gallery, London. Zoe Diao, a Chinese scholar and curator currently based in New York, has been awarded the six-month Fellowship, which begins on 20 September 2021.
