This course will look at different types of fundraising events and most effective and suitable approaches in the context of your organisation and goals.  From small cultivation events to large scale galas and auctions, we will look at the importance of realistic and measurable objectives, target audience and practicalities around planning, budgeting and pricing.

You will learn about:

  • Different types of events and ingredients for success
  • How to define your audience and right target group for your events
  • How to manage events effectively and what resources and help you need

 

Lunch and refreshments will be included in the course fee 

About Janine Catalano

Janine Catalano is Director of Development at Whitechapel Gallery. She has over a decade of experience in development and stakeholder engagement, having held roles at the Courtauld Institute of Art, the Royal Academy, and City & Guilds of London Art School, as well as running independent food and culture events.

About Alexandra House

Alexandra House is the Development Events Manager at Whitechapel Gallery, with experience in planning, producing and managing a wide range of fundraising, cultivation and partner events. She has delivered a range of large scale events including Art Night 2017, the Max Mara Art Prize for Women, The Film London Jarman Award ceremony, along with managing the Whitechapel Gallery’s annual fundraising gala, Art Icon.

About Andrea Ziemer-Masefield

Andrea Ziemer-Masefield is the Development Events Manager at the Whitechapel Gallery and has worked in events for 9 years. She currently project manages the Gallery’s main fundraising event Art Icon along with delivering a wide rage of development events. Such events include artists dinners, season openings along with cultivation events such as the Annual Dinner and the Chairman’s Reception. For a number of years she ran the Whitechapel Gallery patron events programme. She previously worked as a catering events manager.
