A weekend of events profiling and featuring the six artists shortlisted for Film London Jarman Award 2015.

Featuring screenings, conversations and performance, the first day brings together Alia Syed, Seamus Harahan and Andrea Luka Zimmerman, to explore documentary, personal work, social space and locality. The second day features Adam Chodzko, Gail Pickering and Bedwyr Williams and focuses on history, narrative and storytelling.

Saturday 21 November

11.15am Screening of Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Estate: A Reverie, 2015, 83 mins.

1.15pm Introductions

1.30pm Alia Syed, screening of Priya, 2011, 16mm, 13 mins, and a new work in progress On a Wing and a Prayer, 2015, followed by an in-conversation with Sarah Turner.

2.30pm Seamus Harahan – screening of a selection of earlier works (total running time 21 mins) with an introduction by the artist.

3pm Seamus Harahan (accordion) and his collaborators Robyn G Shiels (guitar & vocals) and James Heaney (banjo) perform live in Gallery 2.

4pm Andrea Luka Zimmerman – music, poetry and a discussion. With Olivia Chaney (singer, songwriter – vocal & guitar), Stephen Watts (poet) and joined by key people from the broader Estate project.

5pm Panel discussion with Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Alia Syed and Seamus Harahan on documentary, personal work, social space and locality. Chaired by Gareth Evans, Adjunct Film Curator, Whitechapel Gallery
