Is the Gallery free?

The Whitechapel Gallery’s displays, commissions and archive galleries are free and open all year round, six days a week. Throughout the year the Whitechapel Gallery has two ticketed exhibitions to support its Exhibition and Education programmes, also enabling the Gallery to show historically important works of art.

Can I show my work at the Whitechapel Gallery?

The Gallery’s curatorial team  programme the exhibitions and do not accept proposals, but the Whitechapel Gallery has a triennial exhibition The London Open which is open all artists over 26 living or working in London.

How is the organisation funded?

The Whitechapel Gallery is a public gallery funded by the Arts Council England as well as support from Trusts and Foundations, Corporates and Individuals, and via income from activities such as producing limited edition prints and hiring spaces at the Gallery. You can support the Whitechapel Gallery by becoming a member or making a donation.
