Gripping tales of intrigue and adventure pieced together from the archives of his own extended family, are recounted by Pijnappel through sound and image. His haunting stories of rootless voyagers in search of their dreams take us across continents and back and forth in time. By turns picaresque, glamorous and melancholic his novelistic, often autobiographical accounts, share with those of Joseph Conrad or Graham Greene a cast of characters who travel the world in search of themselves.
