More in Walking Tour: March 2018

Every month, Whitechapel Gallery maps out a Walking Tour with a selection of the latest First Thursdays exhibitions in east London. The accompanying map is available for free at the Whitechapel Gallery information desk or available to download below.

March’s Walking Tour begins at Whitechapel Gallery. Enter the immersive work of Mark Dion in our new exhibition, Mark Dion: Theatre of the Natural World (Book now). Ongoing exhibitions include ISelf Collection: The Upset Bucket [Free entry], the frisson of the togetherness by Leonor Antunes [Free entry] and it’s your last chance to see Commissions from Performa’s Archives [Free entry] and MATT + FIONA: Room for Art [Free entry].

Next stop, head to 5th Base Gallery (5min) for the launch of Get It Arts, an exhibition dedicated to bold and innovative art in editions with a focus on printmaking and photography. Visit Studio 1.1 (12 min) to see V & A & A, the result of three artists who have known each other and each others work for twenty years, showing together for the first time. And to The RYDER Projects (20 min) to watch Jaime Pitarch: TRICK, a video piece that employs the same aesthetic as las manos mágicas (“the magic hands”), where everything is exposed and where everything is visible.
