Connecting with people living and working in east London

The Whitechapel Gallery works with the local community to explore place and identity through workshops and artist projects, both on and off-site.

Join workshops

Inspired by our current exhibitions, free community workshops are led by artists and designed to support first-time visitors as they explore art and making.

Sessions are planned in advance to meet the particular needs of each group.

Please note:

  • Community groups include any organised group of people outside of formal education.
  • We prioritise groups coming from east London.
  • Indicative groups are ESOL groups, adults with learning disabilities, mental health service users, parent groups, homeless people and older people attending day centres.
