Symposium: Art: What is the Use?

Friday 14 January, 2011 - Friday 14 January, 2011

Until 6pm

How subversive is the social uselessness of art? How could art play a more directly functional role in culture? Dean Kenning and Gavin Grindon challenge the idea that art should be allowed to take critical positions safe from any real intervention. Participants include Gail Day, James Marriot & Jane Trowell (PLATFORM) Peter Osborne, John Roberts, Dmitry Vilensky (Chto Delat), Marina Vishmidt, Stephen Wright and Artur Zmijewski.

In association with the Stanley Picker Gallery Public Lectures on Art.
