Architecture offers a context in which to present art, apart from which it can also inform and challenge the way artists make work. This course traces the relationship between art and architecture by exploring collaborations between modern and contemporary artists and architects, surveying the development of iconic international art spaces and investigating emergent ‘spatial practices’ which characterise contemporary responses to the public realm and built environment.
