Lara Viana's work begins with found imagery which elicits an emotional response. Her paintings suggest hidden Gothic narratives and a sense of nostalgia. Created as a limited edition exclusively for the Whitechapel Gallery, White Sheet was part of the 2009 East End Academy Exhibition.

Artist Information
Born in Brazil, Lara Viana graduated from the Royal College of Art, London in 2007. She has participated in solo and group shows, including Bloomberg New Contemporaries, Transition Gallery and Tricycle Gallery. She is represented by Domobaal Gallery, London.
