Artist Information

The work of French artist Sophie Calle could be described as a kind of autobiographical Situationism; using photography, installation and writing, her work employs various narratives in order to merge fact with fiction and tease out an uncertainty in the viewer about the authenticity of what is being viewed.
This work was inspired by the final words spoken to Calle by her dying mother: 'Ne vous faites pas de souci' or 'try not to worry'.
