Artist Information

Chantal Joffe has created this 15 colour screen print, Vita, exclusively for the Whitechapel Gallery after Alice Neel's highly successful  Whitechapel Gallery show: Painted Truths  in 2010 and in response to the American painter's figurative works.  Joffe's intense, sensitively observed figure paintings are resonant of Neel’s in both their directness and psychological depth.

 Joffe has exhibited widely in the USA, Europe and in the UK including the Tate Liverpool and ICA London, at John Moores 22 at The Walker, Liverpool and the Bloomberg Commission.
