Artist Information

Irish-born artist Eva Rothschild’s work explores the iconography of mysticism and spirituality.  She is interested in the ways in which art and faith are connected and in the process of how objects are endowed with meanings beyond their materiality.  She frequently works in sculpture and two-dimensional material, which she sometimes creates from found visual material such as posters and photographs. 

Eva Rothschild was awarded the Duveen Commission at Tate Britain and has been featured in exhibitions at Tate, the Kunsthalle Zurich, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Barbican.
