The winners of the Videobrasil em Contexto Prize, Egyptian artist Mahmoud Khaled and Brazilian artist Claudio Bueno present films from the Videobrasil archive.

Over the course of a three-month residency, split between Delfina Foundation and Casa Tomada in São Paulo, the artists are both making works that are informed by Videobrasil's extensive collection of films from the geo-political South. 

The works presented at the Whitechapel Gallery are drawn from Videobrasil's archive, an incredible resource built over 20 years of festivals that is available to artists and researchers. The works have become reference points in the conceptualization of the artists' new commissions, which will be unveiled at the 30th edition of the Videobrasil Festival in autumn 2013.

Paula Garcia, '#3 (Series Noise Body)' (2011), Documentation of Performance, Digital Video, 13'30". Exhibited at Performa Paço at Paço das Artes (curated by: Lucio Agra). Part of Garcia's research was shown at the 17th edition of the Videobrasil Festival.
