Whitechapel Gallery Director Iwona Blazwick OBE, TOD'S President and Owner Diego Della Valle, Art Plus Chairs Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst and Jude Law, Harper's Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Lucy Yeomans and the Art Plus Committee, presented an evening of live performance, art and drama at the Whitechapel Gallery on Thursday 24 March 2011.

The evening featured specially commissioned scripts written by artists including: Lynda Benglis, Ryan Gander, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Barbara Kruger, and Lawrence Weiner. Performed by actors including Benedick Blythe, Helen Bradbury, Claire Foy, Tom Hiddleston, Jake Maskall, Hywel Morgan, Juliet Oldfield, Maxine Peake, Jonathan Pryce and Ashley Walters, directed by Rupert Goold.

The evening saw the world exclusive of Teatro alla Scala's collaboration with TOD'S with a solo performance by Marta Romagna, prima ballerina, Teatro alla Scala, created by Gianluca Schiavoni, and the screening of An Italian Dream.

The evening included an auction of works by Oliver Barker, Sotheby's including: Sir Anthony Caro, Angela de la Cruz, Ian Davenport, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Ryan Gander, Nan Goldin, Ilya & Emilia Kabakov, Barbara Kruger, Alice Neel, Julian Opie, Dame Paula Rego, Jamie Shovlin and Lawrence Weiner. Followed by dancing and DJs, including special sets by David Dorrell, Dan Lywood, David Shrigley, Erika Ts and Lady Luck Club.

Ticket sales and auction in aid of the Whitechapel Gallery's Education and Community Programme that works with over 3,000 children and 30 diverse community groups each year. Help support the next generation of artists. 

2010's Art Plus Music Party saw glamorous guests including Kate Moss, Johnny Borrell, Jefferson Hack, and Tracey Emin enjoying live performances by Primal Scream’s front man Bobby Gillespie, accompanied by special guest Jamie Hince (The Kills); artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster with punk band S.C.U.M; twice Mercury Music Prize & multiple Brit Award nominee Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes); and the London premiere of Sol is going home…by artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and composer Ari Benjamin Meyers featuring a 28-piece orchestra.
