Admin Assistant – Kick Start Programme
For over a century the Whitechapel Gallery has premiered world-class artists from modern masters such as Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Frida Kahlo to contemporaries such as Sophie Calle, Gilbert & George, William Kentridge, Sarah Lucas, Gerhard Richter and Cindy Sherman.
With beautiful galleries, exhibitions, artist commissions, collection displays, historic archives, education resources, inspiring art courses, restaurant and bookshop, the Gallery is open all year round (opening subject to government guidelines), so there is always something free to see.
The Gallery is taking part in the government initiative ‘Kick Start’ programme, and has 2 placements available. These are 6 months placements and open ONLY to applicants coming through Kick Start programme via DWP & Job Centers.
Admin Assistant at the Whitechapel Gallery is an opportunity for the candidate to gain training, skills and experience in a specific aspect of the workings of a public gallery. The Admin Assistant will gain an insight into the working of administration, HR and Finance processes and procedures. The admin assistant will also have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced HR and Finance professionals.
The Admin Assistant will gain work experience in the busy Admin, HR and Finance department supporting the HR Manager and Head of Finance in daily administration, HR and Finance duties.
