Join artists Jeff McMillan and David Batchelor for a conversation chaired by former Whitechapel Gallery Director Iwona Blazwick in an event that contextualizes McMillan’s wider practice and launches Biblio, a new artist monograph of works on paper made using formative books the artist brought with him from the U.S.

About Jeff McMillan

Jeff McMillan was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1968 and has lived and worked in London since 1998. His work approaches painting through materiality and process, often in dialogue with the found object. Recent solo exhibitions include at Kristof de Clercq Gallery, Ghent (2018) and at Handel Street Projects, London (2016). Group exhibitions include at 22,48m2, Paris; Royal Academy, London (2018); The Foundling Museum, London (2016); Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh (2015). He created the project space Pearl in the early 2000s, and has curated exhibitions at Frith Street Gallery, Large Glass and was co-curator of British Folk Art at Tate Britain in 2014.
