HOXTON 253 is thrilled to invite you to their 1st gallery anniversary celebration event.

For the occasion Liquin – a collaborative project between Andrew Hart and Janek Nixon – curated and organised the 5 days exhibition.

The program consists of video screenings, sound performances, and sound-based installations in the space.

The screening includes 20 videos by a wide range of artists including Larry Achiampong, Diane Chire, Serena Huang, Beverley Bennett amongst many others. The videos were selected for the use of sound in its various forms.

The main gallery space will be activated by three sound installations by Janek Nixon, Serena Huang & Andrew Hart – the 3 works will come together as an overall sound piece, working through Liquin’s ideas on improvisation in their performative collaborations.

The event will be launching on Wednesday 5th February /6-9pm with the screening of The Frequency Band moving image works on a large screen

Gallery located at north end of Hoxton Street adjacent to Nuttall Street.

By Bus- St Leonards Hospital, Kingsland Road bus stop, then a 3 minute walk via Nuttall Street.

By Tube – From Hoxton Overground station join Kingsland road and head north, turn left onto Nuttall Street which meets Hoxton Street.

Buses: 149, 243, 242, 67, 394.

Nearest Overground: Hoxton

Thursday to Sunday 12-8pm. ​Each event has its own opening hours, please check individual event for more info.
