Gallery Ambassador

Fixed term contracts, 30 November 2021 – 9 January 2022

Do you have an engaged, positive attitude and an enthusiasm for excellent visitor care? If you would like to be part of a dynamic team supporting the Gallery’s culture of experimentation in work practices, you could consider applying to greet visitors and invigilate exhibitions in our beautiful galleries.

We are offering a number of fixed term Gallery Ambassador contracts to invigilate our Theaster Gates: A Clay Sermon exhibition, as well as our other exhibitions and displays including Yoko Ono: MEND PIECE for London and Simone Fattal: Finding a Way.

Working patterns available:

Please note working patterns remain the same each week.

Working Pattern 1

Tuesdays 10:30 – 18:15 (6.75 hours)

Wednesdays 10:30 – 18:15 (6.75 hours)

Sundays 12:15 – 17:00 (4.75 hours)

18.25 hours a week

Working Pattern 2

Tuesdays 12:15 – 16:30 (4.25 hours)

Wednesdays 10:30 – 18:15 (6.75 hours)

Sundays 10:30 – 19:30 (8 hours)

19 hours a week

Please note on the following weeks, 13 – 19 December 2021 and 3 – 9 January 2022 some contracted hours will be reduced due to exhibition change over.

Conditions of work

  • Fixed Term contracts 30 November 2021 – 9 January 2022
  • Be available to cover other Gallery Ambassador’s Annual Leave when required
  • Be available to work evening shifts when required as per season openings, patrons events etc.
  • The period of notice: 1 month (1 week within probation)
  • Probation period: 3 weeks
  • Salary: based on £10.85 per hour (including holiday pay) on a fixed term contract with additional hours added
