Publications Manager - Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a meticulous and organised Publications Manager to be wholly responsible for the production, sale and distribution of the Documents of Contemporary Art series, and to provide support and expertise to our Curatorial colleagues in the production and distribution of Exhibition Catalogues. Your income-generating role in the Whitechapel Gallery Ventures team will provide a vital contribution towards supporting the ongoing work of the Gallery including its world-class programming.

You will bring skills in copy editing and proof reading as well as having a firm grasp on copyright clearance and distribution processes. Meticulous organisation and attention to detail will underpin your ownership of publications stock management and reporting, whilst a passion for project management will make you a deadline-driven multitasker. An understanding of current debates in contemporary art and culture will support your work on delivering our internationally recognised Documents of Contemporary Art series.

Conditions of work:

  • 1-year fixed term, part-time contract (open to discussion around contracted days/hours, expected 3/4 days per week)
  • Hours of work: 9.30am – 5.45pm, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 full time equivalent; pro rata upto 4 days per week
