Senior Development Manager, Individual Giving

Are you a confident networker with experience of working with Patrons or Major Donors and want to help realise some of the most exciting artistic projects happening today?

Working with both artists and dedicated supporters to help write the next chapter of artistic projects at the Whitechapel Gallery, the Senior Development Manager, Individual Giving, will work closely with the Director of Development to lead on identifying income generation opportunities from individuals. You will play a pivotal role in securing new donors and managing ongoing relationships with individual supporters including our dedicated Patrons group, and help to organise unique events to engage our donors.

The successful candidate will be able to forge strong relationships and demonstrate persuasive skills that bring people along with them. You will be comfortable working in a target driven environment and be able to create compelling and well presented proposals to secure significant donations, as well as demonstrate data management knowledge. You will be joining our successful and creative team full of people who care deeply about shaping the artistic landscape.

Conditions of work

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours of work: full-time
    Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:45pm, with one hour for lunch
  • Salary: c. £35,000 per annum
  • The period of notice is 3 months in writing on either side
  • Probation period: 6 months
  • Due to the nature of the job, some evening and weekend work will be required, as well as occasional travel. This will be compensated by time off in
