With beautiful galleries, exhibitions, artist commissions, collection displays, historic archives, education resources, inspiring art courses, restaurant and bookshop, the Gallery is open all year round (opening subject to government guidelines), so there is always something free to see.
Whitechapel Gallery is currently recruiting for a 6-month Visitor Services Assistant placement through DWP Kickstart scheme. This is a great opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in a friendly, supportive environment. Suitable candidates must be aged 16-24, currently be claiming Universal Credit and are required to apply through local Job Centres following a referral from their Work Coach.
This is a 6 month placement open ONLY to applicants coming through DWP, Job Centres.

Overview
The Visitor Services Assistant at the Whitechapel Gallery is an opportunity for the candidate to gain training, skills and experience in a specific aspect of the workings of a public gallery. The Visitor Services Assistant will gain an insight into the visitor services, customer care and day to day running of the Front of House team of a busy Gallery. The visitor services assistant will also have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced Managers.
The Visitor Services Assistant will gain work experience in the busy Front of House and Operations department supporting the Visitor Services Supervisor, Manager and Director of Operations and Visitor Services.
