To celebrate the eleven year partnership between the Whitechapel and the Film London Jarman Award, the Whitechapel will present works from the six artists shortlisted in 2019 every day in the Zilkha Auditorium.

The artists shortlisted for the Jarman Award 2019 are:

  • Beatrice Gibson
  • Mikhail Karikis
  • Hetain Patel
  • Imran Perretta
  • Rehana Zaman

 

The Film London Jarman Award recognises and supports artists working with moving image and celebrates the spirit of experimentation, imagination and innovation in the work of UK-based artist filmmakers. The Award is inspired by visionary filmmaker Derek Jarman and is presented in association with the Whitechapel Gallery. Any mid-career artist filmmaker whose work embraces the spirit and the legacy of Jarman’s highly experimental and risk-taking approach can be nominated and the Award comes with a £10,000 prize.

The screenings will take place from 26 November – 8 December.
Tuesday-Sunday 11:00am – 6:00pm.
Thursdays until 21:00.
