With schools, community centres and creative spaces temporarily closed, we know how hard it can be to find inspiring activities to keep kids occupied. That’s why we’ve worked with a group of artists and performers to create Performing the Home, an activity pack all about working together as a family to find new ways of exploring our homes and nearby surroundings.

Below is just an example of the 8 suggested activities, each offering ways to be creative by using everyday objects, our bodies and our imaginations. You can download the full pack here, featuring ideas from Jasmin Bhanji, Harold Offeh, Martin O’Brien, Raju Rage & Nad MA, SERAFINE1369 and Helen Davison, Curator: Children & Families at Whitechapel Gallery.

This resource is aimed at families with children aged 6 and up, but you can also use the images and texts to inspire play with movement and gesture for younger children. Be sure to tag us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to share photos of your in-home performances!
