Past Event

This event was on Thurs 21 May, 7pm

Curator Hou Hanru is in conversation with Afterall’s Lucy Steeds to discuss Cities on the Move (1997–2000), co-curated with Hans Ulrich Obrist, as well as some of his related curatorial projects. These include Parisien(ne)s at Camden Arts Centre, London and Hong Kong, etc., which formed part of the 2nd Johannesburg Biennale, both from the same inaugural year; and from five years later, P_A_U_S_E, co-curated with Charles Esche and Sung Wan Kyung for the 4th Gwangju Biennale in 2002.

Organised in partnership with Afterall, this series of talks is inspired by the Exhibition Histories books, which focus on exhibitions of contemporary art from the past fifty years that have changed the way art is seen and made.

In association with Afterall.
