More in The Teenage Self

The Teenage Self

The Stash Gallery

4 August - 3 September

Iain McKell was a beach photographer in Weymouth, Dorset where he grew up. His phtographs from that time evoke a Britain so far away from punk but sliding towards Saturday Night Fever on the beach vibe.
Sara leigh Lewis was on the otherside of the world in Auckland New Zealand. Brilliantly intense portraits of a friendship gang who were desperate seeking Susan before Madonna had a clue.
I put these two miscreants together, male female views on a time when everything was in flux to be a teen rebel shouting then crying to escape the conformity of life, parents and politics.
