Past Event

This event was on Thu 28 Jul, 7pm

London-based artist Florence Peake’s performances find connections between exhibitions, architecture and her own work.

In her durational performance at the Whitechapel Gallery, Peake reframes two existing works within the Mary Heilmann: Looking at Pictures and Keith Sonnier: Light Works exhibitions. Performing bodies travel through the gallery spaces, allowing for multiple moments of encounter over the course of two hours.

Trained in dance and with a background in painting, Peake’s practice encompasses visual art, dance and performance. She combines drawing, painting and sculpture materials  with found, appropriated and fabricated objects, placing them in relationship to the moving body.
