Transport
– To the best of our knowledge, there are no planned disruptions to local transport on the date of the event.
– Our nearest train station – Aldgate East Underground (1 min walk) is not wheelchair accessible. The closest wheelchair accessible stations are Whitechapel (15 min walk), Shoreditch High Street (15 min walk) or Liverpool Street (15 min walk).
– Free parking for Blue Badge holders is available at the top of Osborn Street in the pay and display booths for an unlimited period. Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

A writer whose work spans psychology, philosophy and literature, Katherine Angel is a foremost voice on sexuality and desire.
For this latest talk in our Big Ideas series, Angel responds to the themes of our new exhibition Moving Bodies, Moving Images. She will discuss how our bodies move in often unexpected ways, often in spite of ourselves – in excitement, in distress, in protest. Angel will explore some of the ways that psychoanalysis has thought about these moving bodies, and the quarrelsome but generative relationship between psychoanalysis and feminism in relation to them.
Following Angel’s talk, there will also be a chance for audience questions and contributions to the discussion.

Katherine Angel is the author of the internationally acclaimed Tomorrow Sex Will Be Good Again (Verso, 2021). Her previous books are Daddy Issues (Peninsula Press, 2019) and Unmastered: A Book on Desire, Most Difficult to Tell (Penguin, 2012). Her work has been translated into ten languages. She is a Senior Lecturer in the English department and a Fellow of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London.
