Emma Talbot (b.1969), winner of the eighth edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women, premieres a new body of work at Whitechapel Gallery in June. The Age/L’Età comprises animation, free-hanging painted silk panels, three-dimensional work and drawings.

Artist Emma Talbot completes her 6-month residency as winner of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women

Max Mara, Collezione Maramotti and Whitechapel Gallery are pleased to announce that Emma Talbot (b. 1969, UK), winner of the 8th Max Mara Art Prize for Women, has completed her bespoke six-month residency in Italy. The new artworks produced during this period will be shown in an exhibition slated to open at Whitechapel Gallery, London, on 30 June 2022 and at the Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia, on 23 October 2022.

Gilane Tawadros Appointed New Director of Whitechapel Gallery

16 May 2022 – Whitechapel Gallery is delighted to announce that curator and writer, Gilane Tawadros, has been appointed the new Director of Whitechapel Gallery, London. Currently Chief Executive of DACS, a not-for-profit visual artists' rights management organisation, and previously founding Director of the Institute of International Visual Arts (Iniva), Tawadros will take up her post in October 2022.
