Past Event

This event was on Thu 08 Sep 2016, 7pm

A premiere screening of Marta Michalowska’s Drawing in Space, Drawing in Time (2016) alongside her triptych Without. Followed by a Q&A with the artist.

Drawing in Space, Drawing in Time (32 min) explores two strikingly different approaches to the medium of drawing in the work of artists – Meghana Bisineer (animation) and Julian Wild (sculpture) – in a conversation about creativity and artistic ideas.

Without is a triptych that consists of three component film works Without Reflection (2011/15), Without Shadow (2011/15) and Without (2016). Michalowska explains:”The film was prompted by an image I saw on my arrival in the family home after the death of my father and before his burial. The image provoked an exploration of death and loss. It is a meditation on grief.”

Supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
