The Residence is a 21st century international, commercial and creative art venue directed by artist Ingrid Z. Notice of demolition at its former Verger’s cottage prompted the gallery to secure a permanent move to its much loved Victoria Park Road. The gallery’s history began earlier as an idea for a palatial d.i.y. museum in an abandoned Victorian mental hospital. It officially unleashed itself as “The Residence” with over 100 exhibitions in a shop premises (2005).
